There is a lot of fly on a relatively short shank wide gape hook which I predominantly use during Cicada time. For those of you lucky enough to have fished New Zealand during the early part of the new year when the Cicada’s are chirping you may have seen fish swim 20ft to a fly which they ordinarily would not do.
